「石鹸を使った手洗いのための官民パートナーシップ」（Public Private Partnership for Handwashing：PPPHW）が「国際衛生年」（International Year of Sanitation）の2008年（平成20年）に制定。英語表記は「Global Handwashing Day：GHD」。
